Over the last 5 -10 years I’ve become increasingly aware of how powerful women are, more so than ever before. The power that a woman can harness out of her heart and soul is mind blowing to me. I love women with a benevolent spirit too. The kind of woman that is happy when another one succeeds, the kind of woman that actually wants to help push another one forward just because they can. This is a a quality that I admire very much but it is not something that comes easy to everyone and finding this type of person is not easy.
Let me introduce you to Katherine English, she spends a lot of effort to push forward other woman who are doing something that she believes in. Katherine runs a group named ‘Tea With Intention’. She holds monthly events inside local businesses that she believes in with the intention of connecting some amazing women together.
Katherine speaks in such a whimsical way that you cannot help but engage in what she is saying. She has a way pointing out all the positive things in life. It leaves you happy and inspired. This event was no different. Women gathered inside of Graye’s Greenhouse to have a tea party, listen to some lovely music and pick up some cool succulents. The contrast of these pretty, delicate tea cups inside the earthy , natural space that is Graye’s was not lost on me.
The greenhouse specializes in houseplants, particularly succulents, cactus, begonias, and ferns. After nearly 90 years, Graye’s Greenhouse continues to provide odd stuff and a breath of fresh air. That’s what their website states but I’m here to tell you tat Graye’s has a a heart & soul of it’s own. The first time I stepped foot in there I was so taken aback by the peace inside that greenhouse, the fresh smell of dirt and flowers and the light against all of those unique plants was captivating. Not to mention they have the coolest plants. Graye’s greenhouse is like a known, respected treasure in Plymouth. Everyone I know raves about the authenticity of it and how much fun it is to just go there.
This months tea with intention was centered around balance. Katherine brought everyone to Graye’s to introduceRachel Nisch and all the wonderful things she is doing at Graye’s as she takes ownership of the space. Halleluyah! It will not be torn down.
Katherine also had the lovely Rebekah Greenman perform for us while we enjoyed each others company.
At one point I looked around and felt so privileged to be in this live and all it’s serendipitous moments. It reminded me to always help the next one in line just like Katherine is.
