Senior Session Style Guide For Girls

WHAT DO I WEAR FOR MY SENIOR PHOTO SHOOT?

Planning what to wear to your senior photo shoot can either be fun or it can be stressful. I’m here to tell you not to stress. The only thing you have to do is have fun and be yourself. Here’s some tips I think are helpful, in general then some inso depending you vibe

  • YES to classy and fun.  Bright shoes or patterns fits.
  • YES to timeless and classic.
  • What you wear doesn’t have to be boring.
  • Please iron your clothes, Please, pretty please with a cherry on top.
  • Cool jeans , a solid shirt, statement jewelry & accessories is a great look.
  • Accessories are a great way to show off personality.  Think hats, coats, sunglasses or boots.
  • YES to getting your hair & makeup done.  Nothing makes a girl feel as beautiful as fresh hair and makeup.  
  • YES to trendy items.  – just make sure you bring another outfit change too so you can get different looks.
  • YES to pretty dresses.
  • Yes to rompers with a jacket or a hat.
  • YES to clothing that fits. 
  • YES to texture – Think suede, leather, tweeds, wool & fur!
  • YES to props that highlight your interests. Like Soccer, baseball, fishing, music, skateboarding.
  • Yes to layers, it’s fun to peel them off for some quick , extra looks.

LET’S GET INTO IT

FIRST LETS TALK ABOUT WHAT NOT DO DO

don’t, don’t, don’t

  • NO logo wording on clothing. No “GAP,” “Old Navy,” or “POLO” splashed in huge letters across a shirt.
  • NO over sized clothes (unless that’s your style)
  • NO to wrinkles.
  • No to holes , (unless it the trendy jeans with deliberate wholes you pay for. 🙂

Are you a flower field kind of girl?

1. Yes to a pretty sundress. 2. Yes to a pretty top with jeans.


3. You can choose patterns or a plain dress.
4. The most important thing to remember when picking what style of dress to wear during your photo shoot is to pick something you feel good in.

Senior Photos In The City

So your want a pretty but edgier city vibe for your senior pictures. maybe a little architecture? Here’s some ides on how to dress for your senior session in the city

  1. Jeans with a classy. top and some killer heels.
  2. A colorful two piece outfit will pop
  3. A casual or fashion forward top with some jeans, jean skirt and cool kicks.
  4. Accessories are a great way to show off personality.  Think hats, coats, sunglasses

You can wear anything in a pretty park to Loog good in photos. A simple, white dress

Let’s go to the beach

Beach sessions in Michigan are pretty limited because they usually require travel. BUT , if you’re going for a beach session

  1. Dresses. Long, short or in between.
  2. Rompers
  3. very classic jeans and T-shirt
  4. Cropped , wide leg linen pants with a fitted shirt
  5. NO shoes so a pedi is a must
